Radio Maria Zambia has been operational for 12 years as a nonprofit making Christian Community radio station, broadcasting from the Eastern Province of Zambia. Our Mission is to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to all the people in Zambia, regardless of their religious affiliation. Radio Maria runs through contributions from volunteers, listeners and people of good will.
Radio Maria Zambia is managed by an Association, whose current Board President is Mss Victoria Mwansa, working for Ministry of Health in Chipata. We broadcast Religious and Social programs, excluding those of political nature. Radio Maria Zambia is currently broadcasting on 2 frequencies; 88.5 MHz in Chipata and 94.9 MHz in Katete.
Radio Maria in the world exists in over 50 countries, with the same broadcasting principles. In Southern Africa, Radio Maria exists in Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Kenya.
This is a Catholic Association, which is apolitical and therefore it does not carry out political activity, but follows the social Doctrine of the Church and its pastoral instructions in this field. The Association is a member of the World Family of Radio Maria Association and it is committed to promoting, developing and diffusing the Radio Maria project within the context of the World Family.
Those who would like to join this Association must declare their Catholic faith, and support and undersign the Guiding Principles.
